THE DRESS!!

Eowyn's stunning white gown from Two Towers. Tolkien based alot of his book on anglo saxon culture. The anglo saxons worshipped similar gods to the vikings, they had different names, but they both came from the same area.

Cassie's dress will be made from Ivory raw silk, with long flowing sleeves. The neckline will be square with silver embroidery taken from a design found on goods found in the Sutton Hoo burial (below)

The Flowers (ideas)

White & Cream Roses - Charm and innocence; Purity; Remembrance. The White rose is the symbol of Yorkshire. It was also chosen by the Jacobites as a representation of the rose plucked by Bonnie Prince Charlie on the march from Glenfinnan

Scottish Thistle - National emblem of Scotland chosen; as legend has it, because of its aid to Scots Clansmen. The army of King Haarkon of Norway landed at Largs with a mind to conquering Scotland. They removed their shoes so as to supprise the sleeping Scotsmen, but one of the Norsemen stood on a the thistle, cried out in pain, subsequently alerting the Clansmen of the oncoming forces.

Myrtle - My heartfelt love; With joy
Ivy - Wedded love and fidelity
Rosemary - Remembrance
Eucalyptus - Protection
Freesia - Innocence

PSSST! - Being as Drew has been given STRICT instructions to avoid this page as if his life depended on it...and believe me it really does. Here is a wee supprise.
Part of the wedding ceremony for both Viking and Scots communities was the presentation by the brides family of a brand new sword to the groom. This sword symbolised the transference of protection and care of the bride's family to the groom.
So I have gone and ordered him a new sword from Armour Class...now I just have to name it!!
